She Was Wearing Eyeliner

White rabbit, black eyes

Last week I asked the Twitter and the Facebook to recommend a black eyeliner that doesn’t make you look like you’ve just rescued a kitten from a storm drain. This is what they said.

  1. Juliet Ulman (@papertyger), “Use Urban Decay Primer Potion and then Mac Fluidline. Fluidline ‘Blitz & Glitz’ is AWESOME, & I am the smudgiest smudger who ever smudged. Primer Potion is MAGICAL & Fluidline is AMAZING, & the combo is a perfect unicorn marriage that will last through a mosh pit. I recommend L’Oreal’s Double Extend (beauty tubes?) tubing mascara for non-smudgy drugstore mascara. #rockshowtested”
  2. Patric King (@patricking), “MAC liquid eyeliner, hands down. only goes away when you yell at it long enough to make it feel bad about hanging around.”
  3. Yvonne Garrett (@yvonnePRB), “Avon’s Big Color Eye Pencil. it’s $7. it works. it lasts. it’s cruelty-free.”
  4. Lauren Hess, “I like Lancôme. It’s pricey, but will last forever.”
  5. Shawnna Thompson-Essl, “Makeup Forever is has a great liner. It runs about $17.”

Fabulous.

Eyeliner? I put that on yesterday.

A purely private, personal memoir would not interest me much; it was the overlapping between my experience and others that galvanized the writing.
